Bobby Maruvada has done production and post production work in the commercial and film industries for over 15 years.  Born in Madras, India, to a musician and a world-renowned research engineer, he pursued both of these fields in college, earning a bachelor's degree in music from Berklee College of Music, and a master's degree in computer engineering from Boston University.

Bobby founded Core Group in 1992, and he continually blends art and science in his career as a DI colorist, DP, commercial director, editor, flame artist, and writer.  Also a member of the 4k Ninjas consortium, (a group of 4k imaging specialists that includes DPs and DITs, or Digital Imaging Technicians), Bobby is an expert in Red post production workflow and has completed full 2k DIs  (debayered at 4k) on Core Group's  Baselight.  In addition to color grading on the Baselight, Bobby uses Nuke to perform full 3D compositing on the system, thereby utlizing the Baselight as a hybrid workstation. 

An accomplished photographer and DP, Bobby has shot everything from still photos to underwater video to 35mm film, on features and VFX-driven commercials.  From 2002 to 2005, Bobby shot, produced and edited the DVD series ScubaCore, a travel series about high end scuba diving destinations worldwide.

Bobby's recent colorist film credits include This is Not a Test, and Wasting Away.  He recently color graded 2k film scans for an upcoming Ice Cube film, which was filmed out for release.  In December 2008 he traveled to India to work with Ayngaran films as the DI colorist on their film Villu, which played in theaters worldwide and featured Indian superstar Ilayathalapathy Vijay. 

Bobby's recent commercial credits include spots for AXE deodorant and the 'What the Flock' campaign for POMx.
